Sharon Whitney is a Professor Emerita of Political Science.
She taught at Tennessee Technological University for 15 years.
Her teaching specialty was American Public Law and Politics.
Her research specialty was the gay rights movement in the U.S.

Dr. Whitney is now retired and living in San Luis Obispo, CA. She is active in several community civic organizations. Her hobby is writing and researching family history. She also enjoys travel and following the developments of her children and grandchildren.

Sharon (Conner) Whitney was born and raised in California. She spent her teen years living in Yosemite National Park.

She attended Mariposa High School and Wasatch Academy.

Sharon received a Bachelor of Sciences in the Social Sciences from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. As a student she married Gary G. Whitney.

Sharon received her Master of Arts, Political Science at Washington State University.

She received her Ph.D. from University of California, Santa Barbara.

She has two children and two grandchildren.
